By 2010, American mobile owning youth under 30 will number 100 million.
The USA is the most valuable mobile youth market in the world currently producing 17% of the world’s total telecoms youth revenue, or $48 billion per year.
Here is mobileYouth’s latest reportage from Tampa, Florida

[...] 100m mobile youth in USA by 2010 [...]
Just watched your clip, I’ll add that out of a couple dozen Shaping Youth tween/teen advisors there were a bounty of brands that raised eyebrows on the affluenza front; specifically middle schoolers using iphones and full qwerty board texting devices.
My own teen (13) hates my iphone because the texting slows her down, and she customizes her (beat up) Motorola Razr every time I turn around with a self-made ’skin’…Latest thing in our crew is the foil wrappers from 5 gum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5_(gum)separating off the wax paper and having it adhere like magic. No fuss no muss AND it’s fruit scented to boot! ;-)
Pretty creative, these ‘mobile youth’ aficionados…eh? (p.s. btw, her first phone was a Nokia hand-me-down & she ended up painting it with black glitter nailpolish to cover the scuffs)
Thanks again for the shout out about Shaping Youth…our little ol’ nonprofit is chuggin’ away!

btw, Are you guys doing a story on this soon? Would love to pick it up and save my fingers: http://www.phonetag.com
