25% growth in UK text messaging in 2007

Figures released last week show that 4,825 billion text messages were sent in the UK along during September 2007, an average of over 1,2 billion messages every week.
 
The figures show a 25% increase compared to 2006 and has caused the industry to revise it annual predicted total figure from 48bn to 52bn messages in 2007.
