Despite the nation’s credit crunch woes, young adults in the US will increase their holiday spending by 10% this season, to $634 per person, according to researcher Youth Trends.

The survey found that an increasing number of respondents are using the Internet to shop for holiday gifts: 27%, up from 23% last year.

According to a 2007 survey by Harris Interactive for Alloy Media + Marketing, US students ages 18 to 30 will spend $48 billion on discretionary purchases this year.
