Teenagers and Cell Phones: Full, Unedited Interview with André Caron
People of many different ages use cell phones, of course, but for teenagers, it occupies a particularly important role. It’s a social prosthetic, a form of community building, and sometimes the source of battles with parents. Recently, I interviewed André Caron. He’s the director of the CITE at l’Université de Montréal, and Bell Chair in Interdisciplinary Research on Emerging Technologies. He’s also a guy who has done a lot of research into how teens actually use their cell phones, and what role it plays in the development of their culture, in researching his book, Moving Cultures.
