The idea of innovation as a process as introduced in a previous post. Hackathons are the perfect platform for mobile brands who want to involve youth in the innovation process. Brands like Facebook and Google have led the hackathon movement and benefited from it in the form of better products and market relevant innovation. AT&T is one of the few brands to have adopted hackathon as its innovation approach.
For a successful hackathon, brands need to clearly map out their issues and adopt a long term approach. One hackathon will not lead you to the next big thing in mobile.
