Following on from our earlier interview with John Solomon from enoVate in China discussing grass roots and partnership marketing, we’re moving our focus this week to take a wider perspective on youth culture in the People’s Republic.

How can youth brands, often edgy and defiant by definition, assimilate their messages into the Chinese market without selling out? It’s a challenge facing both new entrants and incumbents as they attempt to balance the need to resonate with youth values and stay within the parameters of acceptability.
