The world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is loaded to the brim with fascinating and unique looking characters, but few are as adorable or as lovable as the protagonist Aang himself. His childlike charm and unwavering bravery are an inspiration to everyone, old or young.

That’s why an Aang costume would be a super cool choice for anyone whether you’re 8 years old or 40 years old. If you want to channel your inner airbender then let’s find out how you can make your transformation into Aang, the last airbender.

What You Need for the Aang costume

As a member of a Buddhist-like tribe, Aang’s outfit is fairly minimalist and uses orange and yellow colors much like real life Buddhist monks.

First of all you’re going to need a bald or shaved head for the Aang look to work. If you don’t want to shave your head then you can always just buy a bald cap, which fortunately are pretty cheap.

Next, you will need some blue paint so you can draw Aang’s signature blue arrow on your skull and forehead. The blue arrow is by far the most distinguished aspect of Aang and no Aang costume would be complete without it.

Then you’ll need to get the right apparel and accessories. Aang is known for wielding a wooden staff that he not only uses for combat but also for gliding around the air by controlling the wind.

For the clothes, you’ll just need a few simple items. An orange poncho, some high brown boots, an orange sash and a yellow-brownish jumpsuit will complete the Aang costume.
