Both Xiaomi and Vava have made two really exceptional projectors: both are capable of 4K HDR, and have an incredibly clear picture quality. While both projectors truly are great, they are not identical. Let’s find out now which one of these two projectors is really the winner here.
First off, Xiaomi’s Mijia projector is considerably smaller and about a thousand dollars less expensive than the Vava. It’s surprisingly portable and easy to reorient if ever needed.
More importantly, both the Xiaomi Mijia and the Vava have excellent picture quality. Whether your are using them at 1080p or 4K with HDR, the pixel density looks fantastic and the accuracy of the color gamut is incredible. These are without a doubt two of the best projectors I have ever seen, hands down.
However, there are some key differences in picture quality. I noticed that the Vava has a bit of a blue tint to it. Luckily it can be changed with the calibration settings. While the Xiaomi has a bit more accurate color, the image quality is a tad blurrier than the Vava. It’s a minor difference in quality, and it is less noticeable if you are sitting from a farther distance.
While both projectors are capable of maintaining an incredible image quality even at 150 inches, the Vava has more lumens which gives it a brighter display. While the HDR seems to be the same, it does have a better sense of brightness. It will look better not only in brighter rooms, but especially in darker rooms.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi has less power consumption, and I found its calibration settings to be more in-depth and useful to navigate.
While both projectors are simply excellent, I have to say that the Vava projector was my favorite choice. It may be much heavier and considerably more expensive, but its sharpness, brightness and overall color accuracy was unbeatable. The Xiaomi looks stupendous – the Vava just looks slightly more stupendous. If you can afford it, you will not regret owning this magnificent projector. I dare you to find a better looking one.
